Nestabilities/Core'dinations Gate Fold Card Tutorial

I want to teach you how to create Gate Fold cards. I touched on this in an earlier posting but I got a lot of requests to write the instructions. These card outsides are made using the Largest Petite Circle and Largest Square Nestabilities

These are the supplies I used.
I first cut my paper for both cards at 7 7/8 by 4.5 and scored at 1 15/16 from each side to create the gate. The paper will be smaller than your die. I folded both flaps in, making sure that they met in the center, and making sure that the die edges extended slightly past the cardstock on both sides. You need to keep a small area on both sides uncut so that you have hinges when the card is opened creating the gate
I then taped the outside edge of the die to my card to keep from slipping. You can also use the magnetic mat. I would have but I can't keep them in stock so I don't own one myself :(

This is what they look like after cutting.
YES this is the NEW SCOR PAL MAT that fits inside the score pal creating a work surface, self healing cutting mat. I love working on this surface. THIS is a PREORDER on my site for $15.00.

Then I used the plain Circles and Squares to create my layer. I embossed them both.
adhere one side then using a paper cutter or trimmer carefully cut to match up perfectly.

Then I added matching ribbon. I used the fiskars leave it to weaver first but in order to be able to open the card it would not work. I LOVE that punch

Then I ran coordinating CORE'DINATIONS cardstock thru the SWISS DOTS cuttlebug folder
Repeat the same step as above and adhere one side then carefully run thru paper trimmer to line up.
Then I used the Dragonfly and Butterfly from FLYING BEAUTIES SPELLBINDERS DIES. I embossed them as well
I used TIM HOLTZ NEW sanding block to expose the CORE'DINATIONS core color
I used GLOSSY ACCENTS to adhere one side of the butterfly and the dragonfly
and used pop dots for dimension.
