Alcohol Ink Resist on Metal with Tim Holtz Texture Fades

Products Used:
Emboss using Craft Metal in your desired Tim Holtz Texture Fades
I used Meadow & Purple Twilight Alcohol inks
Using the Alcohol Ink Applicator tool and a piece of felt
insert the nib of the alchol ink into the felt and squeeze different
colors on different areas of the felt.
Stamped well inked tool over your embossed metal surface.
You may add or layer additional colors or use lots and blow gently
for a mottled effect.  Use Heat it Tool to dry ink.
This is what it looks like with the two colors I used
The final step in Alcohol Resist is taking the
Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black swipe pad across the raised areas.
This removes the alcohol ink and returns the raised parts to silver.
NOTE:  This ONLY works with the Archival Ink.
You may need to gently wipe the raised surfaces with a cloth.
The results are stunning and the colors are so bright!  I love
the New Texture Fades because they create a high detailed embossed
image into paper or metal.

I love it! I've cut some stuff with the Nestabilities, but haven't done anything with them. Now I think I'll have to go back and try to do this to them! ;o)

Cindy, this is so unique. I would have never thought of using the Ink Pad to remove the colors. I love that metal look, I really have to play with this now.

Cindy, I remember doing the metal art work in grade school and then in High School. Hated all the pressure I had to use to make the dents in the metal. Loved the way it turned out. So, you have made me think it is time to try Metal Art again. This time the machine will do all the work and the fun part will be the inking which I get to do the fun stuff yeah!Your project looks great and you gave me the metal mojo! hugs, Brenda M

Great job! I love this technique! So you are married to "one of those." So am I but at our age I get to call him a grumpy "old" man. That helps! Have a great weekend!

This is way cool. Love using metal, have some gold metal but not sure would be as nice as using the silver. I have done this with heavy & thin(really delicate) tin-foil, but think the archival ink is a great idea, never knew that about it.
Great job, & love the Tim H. folders.
Hugs,
Julia B.
