Spellbinders Explore Beyond Blog Frenzy Day 6

Hello Blog Friends
It's Blog Frenzy Time and I am so excited you are here!!! Today is my turn to show you
5 of the New Spellbinders Nestabilities Card Creator Dies!  I love designing these! It is
my Happy Place and truly an honor to be able to share these fun designs with you!
I have used my Locking Loops, Floral Ribbon Threader, Distressed Edges,
along with Curved and Matting Basics A and B Dies to create my projects here.

First is my Locking Loops Card
I used all 5 dies in the set to create this card.
My finished Easter Card
Center of the card showing custom colored Pearls in center of smallest die in set
A close up of the detail in the Locking Loops Design
I USED THE E-6000 SPRAY GLUE to adhere all my layers!

 Supply List
  1. Spellbinders Nestabilies Card Creator Locking Loops S5-175
  2. Spellbinders Nestabilites Card Creator Matting Basics A S5-131
  3. Tim Holtz Dusty Concord Cardstock and Distress Ink
  4. My Minds Eye Fiddlesticks Cardstock
  5. Cindy Echtinaw Designs Clear Stamps Words and Typewriter for a chance to win this set see ***Below at bottom of Blog Post.
  6. JustRite Autumn Tags Clear Stamps
  7. Pearls and Copic Markers used to custom match them to my Cardstock.
  8. E6000 Spray Glue! I LOVE THIS NEW GLUE for intricate designs such as these you just spray and there is no mess, smell and it bonds beautifully! Available Mid March!

Note: As you can see I did not use the outermost die in this set to cut. I simply
cut the design without the outside cut die directly into my Curved Basics A dies.
My finished Card
A close up so you can see the detail and Metallic Pearl Paint

  Supply List
  1. Spellbinders Nestabilities Card Creator Floral Ribbon Threader S5-176
  2. Spellbinders Nestabilities Card Creator Curved Basics A S5-171
  3. Tim Holtz Spun Sugar Cardstock and Distress Inks
  4. Lucy Cromwell Cardstock
  5. Tim Holtz Metallic Pearl Paint
  6. E6000 Spray Glue!

So now let's EXPLORE BEYOND with a FUN TECHNIQUE!
This Card is made using the Distressed Edges Dies and Floral Ribbon Threader Dies
My Finished Card uses the Scor Pal, Distressed Edges and the Flower from Floral Ribbon Threader Dies

Here is how I created the Pattern above.........

Using the Scor-Pal score Cardstock every 1 inch.
Turn paper and score again at every inch on diagonal.

Use the Flower from the Floral Ribbon Set inside each square.  Make sure to tape so you have the flower in the center of each square you choose before die cutting.
Take Dusty Concord Distress Marker and the Tim Holtz ruler and draw stitch marks on the score line.
Then die cut using the largest die from the Distressed Edges Set

By leaving Cardstock in the die it gives you a white crisp outside emboss line like this :)

This is a closeup of the scoring, stitching, and flower cut outs.

Layer onto Seedless Preserves Cardstock using E6000 Spray Glue

Cut two of the rectangle dies from the Distress set (Largest in seedless, smallest in White)
Cut one flower outside from Floral Ribbon Die and Stamp SEW inside and draw stitches.
Stamp sentiment onto white Cardstock from Sew Sayings Clear Stamps.
Ink edges with Dusty Concord and add buttons to finish card.

I can't wait to get the floral ribbon threader die set. Your third card is my favourite - I would never have thought of using the flower die like that but it is so effective!

Ohhhh so pretty!! My favorite new die set would be the Curved Basics, looks so cool! Pick a favorite card? ohhhh goodness, not so easy! I'd have to say the one you did the stitching on, over the moon adorable and I love that technique!

Love how you used the dies! Love all the cards, my favorite is the Easter Card. Thanks for the chance to win!

Carol said...

It is very difficult to pick one of these cards/dies over another. I LOVE the ribbon threading, but I think the Easter card is especially effective using all the products you are displaying here. It is a beautiful card.

Susan said...

Cindy, these creations are absolutely GORGEOUS!! All so different. Your new dies are fabulous! Wish I could own them all. I may have to go with the curved basics as fav new die but will get them all if I can afford it! My fav card?? Tough call but I'm going with the third one (Floral threader) just because it's so unusual in the use of the die. They are all gorgeous though!
Thanks so much for the chance to win. Sorry to prattle on!

Cindy: After following your blog for, well, almost day 1. I am not surprised that you hit another grand slam with these new dies.

Curved Basics A would be my choice. I can visualize card now, being made, using it for perfect layering and artwork.

I love all of your cards so it is a hard choice, but I think if I had to choose one, it would be the 3rd one as you used the die in a different way than I would have thought of myself.

My FAV card is your 3rd card because you've 'explored beyond', and it's sooo lovely. I'd be happy with any/all Card Creator dies -- only have one so far -- and ALL make up part of my HUGE SBs' Wish List!!!

Beautiful projects! Thanks for the tutorial!

Moosisk said...

I have to say that I LOVE the ribbon threader die set. Of course, I love ALL your dies, but the ribbon threader is probably my fave of the new ones. Thanks for a chance to win. :D

Angela Fehr said...

I love the first card!

Disco Queen said...

Hi Cindy, all your new die releases are amazing, but the absolute must have for me is the locking loops.

Pat Jandacek said...

Your work is beautiful. I opt for the simpler, 'quilted' card as my favorite, primarily because it's something I think I could actually do. I also think the technique is very clever...it's a novel idea (to me) to use the die to create a pattern rather than stamping. Your tip on the spray glue will be a lifesaver to us all with the number of filigree-style dies now on the market.

Maria said...

Although all the projects aer wonderful, I LOVE the floral ribbon threader card most! It's so dainty! I have become addicted to Spellbinders dies and now see there are more that I NEED! :)
TFS your projects!

LOL Both of your cards are beautiful! Thank you for sharing with us!

What a clever idea to put a flower into the grid for an all over design. Love the effect!

Maryann Laursen said...

WAUW this is so awesome, but I honestly don´t think, it´s fair to ask us pic a favorite, as I really want them all. I simmply can´t pick just one, cause both the ribbonthreader and the Locking Loops are really high on my wishlist, and the rest of them are just close behind LOL.
All your cards here are also just stunning work, and I really think, you´ve hit the nail here with these Cindy, they´re all soooooooooooooo amazing work. I would be thrilled to get any of these anytime, that´s for sure.

Hmm, never knew about that Glue, have to look for that. Love how you created Background. it's gorgeous.

Cindy,
I don't like picking favorites because they are all so beautiful; however, if I have to choose one it would be the Easter card. I love how you used ALL the dies in the Locking Loop set. So often I get stuck just using one or two of the dies while the others go un-noticed for a time!

I would also choose the Card Creator Locking Loops!

Barbara Hagerty said...

Your cards are lovely! I think my favorite is the floral ribbon threader card. I'm amazed at how many different looks can be achieved from the dies, and how many different uses they have. Your cards have given me new ideas! Thanks!
